Local stations now transmit new digital channels 24 hours 7 days a week. Some programming is HD (high definition) some SD (standard definition). To receive all of them you need an old fashion antenna and a TV with a digital tuner or the Dish Network Vip 211k or Vip 722k models with the built in local channel module.
Of course you can get ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS in SD (standard definition) digital quality from Dish Network with your old TV for as long as you own it.
